Today, we stand at a crucial time in the
history of humanity. Over the period of the past few decades, the world has
evolved and grown exponentially in its thirst for knowledge, power, morality
and peace. The result is this world where nations with oppressive and
tyrannical regimes are collapsing, for better or worse. A world where many are
learning to say “yes,” and even more are learning to say “no.” The 99% are,
finally, learning to stand up and take up that which is rightfully theirs from
the fat-pig corporations. America, as has been the history of the world in the
past two centuries, is the crucible where the world is changing dynamically
and, even more so, radically.
Rick Santorum is one of the front-runners
for the 2012 presidential elections, for the Republicans. But of course, the
Republicans also have Mitt Romney and Ron Paul, and the Democrats are throwing
in their bit for the competition, which in my honest opinion doesn’t even look
serious; thus crafting a race between the current President Barrack Obama, for
the Democrats, and the Republicans. Now for those of you not in the know, Rick
Santorum is a right-winged fundamentalist; and a Roman Catholic at that. Well
this is generally true for most Republicans, isn’t it? Absolutely. However,
where Santorum takes the cake is that he is ultra-grounded in his religion and
draws the line wherever the Church may ask him to. He is a proponent of home
schooling, pseudo-unification of church and state, opposed to abortion, homosexuality
and contraception. Yes, you read that right, he is opposed to condoms and any form
of contraception. Some pearls of wisdom from the great:
“I understand
why Barack Obama wants to send every kid to college, because of their
indoctrination mills, absolutely … The indoctrination that is going on at the
university level is a harm to our country.” - On education
"I don't
believe in an America where the separation of church and state is
absolute," - On separation of church and state
“I am
pro-life. I believe human life begins at conception. It’s at this moment that
the organism is complete — yes, immature, but complete. An embryo is nascent
human life.” - On abortions
“I have no
problem with homosexuality. I have a problem with homosexual acts. As I would
with acts of other, what I would consider to be, acts outside of traditional
heterosexual relationships.” - On homosexuality
“You either open up those facilities, you begin to
dismantle them and make them available to inspectors or we will degrade those facilities
through air strikes – and make it very
public that we are doing that.” - On Iran's Nuclear program
“One of the
things I will talk about, that no president has talked about before, is I think
the dangers of contraception in this country….Many of the Christian faith have
said, well, that's OK, contraception is OK. It's not OK. It's a license to do
things in a sexual realm that are counter to how things are supposed to be.” - On contraception
As is evident from his
outspoken beliefs, Santorum is looking forward to creating a United States of
America which, as he strongly believes, is founded on the grounds of faith and
religion; to be more precise, Roman Catholicism. The rise of Christian
fundamentalism in America is the power upon which Rick and other Republicans stand.
This fundamentalism stems essentially from the fear of dwindling Christian
dominance in the nation with the LGBT and atheists standing up for their rights,
and the swelling multi-religious migrant communities. The slow recovery of the
economy coupled with the rising levels of unemployment is also pushing the
people to find solace and haven in their faith; forcing them to look for a
higher meaning or purpose in life’s problems. This applies not only to
Santorum, but also to the entire Republican brigade of right-wingers. The
result is a nation which wishes to be built on not the freedom of religion, but
religion itself. Many, of course, take this as an omen. Not me.
I look forward to an America
which is fundamentalist, extremely religious, intolerant and tyrannical (Yes,
tyrannical it has always been, just saying.) The outcome of this radicalism
will be a force of greater good for the world at large. How? You may ask. Or
maybe you think I’m berserk. Permit me to explain.
The first step will be
oppressing the LGBT, atheists, non-Christians (primarily Muslims). For
starters, this radicalism will either force the LGBT & other oppressed into
their closets all over again, or will force them out of their country; latter
being the more likely of the two, and Europe looking to be their best possible
refuge at this stage in time. This exodus, think Jews during Hitler, will
create the foundation for an even more diverse and tolerant Europe, making America
look like the dictatorial big brother it has always denied being.
The next stage will be
curtailing freedoms of speech and action, which will adversely, and very
strongly, affect the media, film makers and music makers, thereby forcing many
to opt out of the country. The smaller corporations and entrepreneurs will soon
follow suit and either be hived off or move out. The larger corporations may
follow. The end result will be a new wave of entrepreneurial resurgence in
Europe and other regions. There will very well be a band of individuals –
artists, corporate, politicians – who, being vile cunning foxes, will aid these
changes and developments with the ultimate aim of gaining greater powers during
ailing times. They of course will be of little interest to the outside world
unlike years after their death (Richard Strauss & Adolf Ziegler during Nazi
Germany). The world economies and powers will move away from being,
unofficially, uni-polar to being officially multi-polar. This will hopefully be
enough of a demotivator for the country and hence stop them from minding
others’ businesses like in Afghanistan and Iraq. Hopefully, thus creating a
balanced world where nations like Iran are free to start their own nuclear
programs without fear of being destroyed. Of course with greater power will
come greater responsibility where the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the likes
will count.
With the banning of
contraception, abortion, stem cell research and genetic engineering, we are
bound to have multiple fallouts. The birth rates will soar tremendously, as is
obvious, probably leading to a stage where we may see a One-child policy, as
seen in China. But probably never a retraction of the contraception ban, unless
the Catholic Church and its pedophilia ignoring Pope decide to change their
stand. Stem-cell research and Genetic engineering laws are bound to force
research projects out of the country, leading to an exodus by the
pharmaceutical biggies. Probably you may argue that the corporations may not
move out and only move the research outside. Try explaining that to the crowds
when they stage protests banning research by corporations within or without the
US of A.
Education will
simultaneously be a victim of religious intolerance. With creationism being
taught in science in many public schools already, children will accept it as a
science and thereby confuse their foundations of evidence and beliefs.
Institutes of higher education and universities will be victims as well when
they will notice the drop in international student applications. Not to forget
that many of the best brains, students and professors alike, being atheists and
gay, will have moved base, thereby creating a vacuum in the high standards
which have been a benchmark for the world to look up to. Then, probably will be
the time when the education bubble will finally burst and thus cause the long
awaited crunch in the very inflated sector.
To summarize, it is
crucial that we do not thwart any attempts of the impeding American collapse.
It will bring in a new era of growth, knowledge and PEACE to the world. We will
not prevent America's suicide attempt, but at the same time, encourage openness
within our own people and be ready to welcome the intellectuals into our
lives. Who knows, maybe the next Darwin/Einstein will rise from the ashes in
our midst!
